'Yes - Kidz Klub is back'
A few of the team from the local Kidz Klub, which last ran a year or two back, have decided to try to revive the event, and are planning for a relaunch on Friday September 23rd 2011. God-willing, it will start at 5pm and run until 6.30pm at the Windhill Churches Centre - the new building between St. Michael's and St Joseph's churches, and Windhill and Apton Road.
Clair Sarles from St. Michael's Church felt for some time that the meetings ought to be revived, and was prompted to form a team to do so. A small group met recently, and is feeling its way forward to gather together like-hearted folk to help with all the various tasks that need to be done. We need stars, support staff, techies, administrators, ... and anyone who loves kids and can give a little of their time and resources to launch and sustain us.
At 2011's HBW, children will be given a fly leaflet (for a sample see the Downloads Page) which announces the new series of meetings, gives basic details and includes an application form; ideally to be handed back before the week is out so we have the basic information we need to run the event and some idea of how many to cater for. If you would like your child to be involved and are unable to get the form to us during the week, please drop the webmaster an email and he will forward it to Clair.
WE NEED HELPERS! Are you a committed Christian, who can take an up-front role in what we do? Or do you just love kids, and can look after them?
If you feel God prompting you to get involved in any way, we need to hear from you! You will need to be CRB checked before you can help - HBW clearances which are less than three years old are already acceptable.
This project needs gifted and committed people to have any chance of real success, and God's grace to oversee and blend it together in a beautiful way, just as he does each year at Holiday Bible Week. Please pray for us!
Kidz Klub is for children aged 5-10 years (School years 1-6) and will cost 50p. There will be fun and games, music, bible stories and much else to keep your child constructively occupied for an hour and a half, and instil in them a love of God and others - building in them the character they need to stay out of the problems of adolescence and will need for successful lives.
Been there, done that? To get the Kidz Klub t-shirt (or maybe sweatshirt!) talk to one of the team who will be wearing them on breaks at HBW. Maybe you, too, were born "for such a time as this" (Esther 4: 14).
