What a year!

What a difference clear anointing on those leading HBW made, the out-going Chair, Sarah Garwood said in her 2009 Annual Report released at the AGM. The event was smoother and easier, and although crucial difficulties developed in early Summer when the Site Manager became ill, others rose to the occasion and the event ran just as smoothly ... SO incredibly that (as 'The Latest' newsletter puts it) "It's gotta be God" that runs HBW!

Church Reps made organisation easier; there was a surge in taking responsibility by helpers; giving in a difficult financial year held up pretty well; and enthusiasm was so great, a decision to expand to take in 12-year-olds was made.

This expansion will not be without difficulty! Provision for 12s will require an extra tent additional helpers, and careful planning to ensure the age group blends in well. The tent alone could add £500 to our costs, and as giving from churches has decreased slightly over recent years, it will require a steady faith and confident trust that the Lord will somehow provide through his people.

The AGM also authorised constitutional changes so control is now vested in Trustees, and the new committee was formally welcomed and prayed for.

Two people who made a significant impact at HBW 2009 - above Emen Adegbola, who took over the Site Management at short notice, and below Michael Swann (Swanny) who put a lot of effort into improving the audio/visual aspect of Main Tent despite there not being enough money to implement the Tech Team's proposals. We owe you a great deal guys - thanks!
